FHP Health Center is now an urgent care clinic in the Department of Veterans Affairs network, according to an FHP press release.

That means veterans served by Veterans Affairs can now be treated at the FHP Urgent Care.

According to the VA website, the department offers urgent care benefits to provide eligible veterans with greater choice and access to timely, high-quality care. Urgent care providers treat injuries and illnesses that require immediate attention, but are not life-threatening. For example, colds and flu-like symptoms, minor burns, and skin infections are among the health issues that would be seen at the urgent care clinic, the FHP press release states.

According to the VA, the urgent clinic is meant to supplement care veterans may also have access to at a VA medical facility.

The benefit allows veterans to access urgent care without prior authorization from VA.

FHP Urgent Care is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day.
