The Guam Hotel and Restaurant Association announced that its International Housekeeping Gala will be held on Sept. 8 at the Dusit Thani ballroom.
The annual event honors the hospitality industry and housekeeping employees through recognition of their dedication, good deeds, hard work and contribution throughout the year, according to a GHRA press release. Hotel representatives will recognize outstanding housekeeping employees as part of the “Most Valuable Housekeeper of the Year” Award.
Featuring more than 800 employees, proceeds from the event will benefit the housekeepers, the press release states.
GHRA also is inviting the island community to join their anniversary social on Aug. 27 at the LeoPalace Resort Guam.
The social is an opportunity for entrepreneurs and local business leaders to meet like-minded individuals, according to the announcement. The biannual event raises funds for the cost of operating GHRA, which includes advocating policies, industry employee training, regulatory compliance programs, and addressing tourism industry issues, the announcement states.
