Guam Auto Spot, the authorized dealer for Buick GMC, is aware of General Motors' recent recall and is encouraging customers who have purchased a GMC Sierra or Yukon to come in and verify whether they're affected.

General Motors Corp. on Thursday announced a recall across the United States covering approximately 3.4 million vehicles including trucks and SUVs. This recall also covers Cadillac and Chevrolet which are not brands sold by Guam Auto Spot.

Guam Auto Spot stated it should be noted that it is a regular practice of General Motors to send out letters concerning recalls to customers directly.

"General Motors and Guam Auto Spot Buick GMC take the safety of our customers seriously and encourage customers to come in and have their vehicles' status verified," said Derrick Muna Quinata, president of Guam Auto Spot Buick GMC.

Customers who received a letter directly from General Motors are asked to bring their vehicle in so that the issue may be addressed by their respective dealerships. Guam Auto Spot will specifically handle recalls of GMC Sierra or Yukon.

General Motors Co. on Thursday, Guam time, announced it was recalling 3.46 million U.S. pickup trucks and SUVs to address a vacuum pump issue that could make braking more difficult and that has been linked to 113 accidents and 13 injuries.

The recall covers 2014-2018 model year vehicles, including some Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon vehicles.
