As the Indian Community of Guam celebrates the annual Diwali or Festival of Lights, at the Dusit Thani Guam Resort on Oct. 19, guest chefs are visiting to bring flavors from India to the island.
Dusit's culinary team is working with two guest chefs from India for the Diwali Festival of Lights food promotion at the Aqua Restaurant. The promotion continues through this weekend.
Every year, at the end of the monsoon season, Indians all over the world get together to celebrate their good fortune. Diwali kicks off the new year, according to the Hindu lunar calendar.
The celebration signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, hope over despair, and, most importantly, a time for reflection, stated a press release from the organization.
