Award-winning singer and songwriter Brian McKnight is coming to Guam for an intimate, one-night performance early next month.

Jack Event Group and the Enough is Enough Movement, together with the Dusit Thani Guam Resort and Sorensen Media Group, are inviting the community to "Share an Evening with Brian McKnight" at 6:30 p.m. July 5 at the Dusit Thani in Tumon.

The concert by McKnight, known for hits including "Back at One," "One Last Cry," "Anytime" and many others, is being organized for a good cause.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Guam Family Justice Center Alliance, an organization whose mission is to "reduce revictimization, promote advocacy, streamline the victim process to justice and build a victim-centric center for our island," according to the alliance.

"Since 2008, Family Justice Centers have been developing all over the United States and the world has taken notice of its streamline concept and benefits in the reduction of revictimization, family violence and sexual assault," the Guam Family Justice Center Alliance stated in a release. "Currently, Guam ranks one of the highest places in the world for domestic violence and second highest in the nation for sexual assault cases per capita."

The Guam Family Justice Center Alliance is a local nonprofit organization that wants to bring hope to all victims of violence and their family members.

"The Family Justice Center will be a complete victim center where advocacy and resources will be available to the victims and their families, more importantly, the victim tells their story one time, and one time only, thus ending the cycle of revictimization. Currently Guam does not have a center designed to streamline the mapping of the victim process to include healing and recovery."
