Seventy-five years ago on June 6, 1944, was a special day of hell unknown to many except those involved in the landing in Normandy. The Normandy invasion was one of the most significant battles of World War II. About 92% of the first wave to hit the beach were killed, and 80% of the next wave was lost. There were so many bodies it was difficult to walk but every wave fewer liberators were killed until one wave broke through the lines and the Nazis were ultimately on their way to defeat. Just imagine if you or I were in one of those waves. Imagine your life today if they had failed. Which language would we be speaking today - the language of Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, or Imperialistic Japan?

By definition, Nazism means socialism - where the state controls the means of production. In the history of the universe, socialism has always failed. It is a pretty well-documented fact that more than 100,000,000 – that's one hundred million – people have been killed in the name of socialism. Churchill's famous quote was: "Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy." Venezuela's brand of socialism hasn't panned out for them. What makes those yelling for socialism in the U.S. think that "only if they were in control" they could make it work?

The warriors of World War II were truly the greatest generation of all of us - they proved it with their blood so we would have the freedom today that we all barely give a second thought to.
