$4.2M in tax refunds released for early February filers

Residents who filed their taxes in early February received some welcome news with the announcement of nearly $4.2 million being released to pay tax returns.

The Department of Revenue and Taxation processed and the Department of Administration will mail 1,532 refund checks for tax year 2019 this week, the governor's office announced Friday

The checks total approximately $4.2 million – including refunds garnished to repay government debts – for error-free returns filed on or before Feb. 11.
