The former executive director of the Guam Legislature has started as the policy director for the Leon Guerrero-Tenorio Administration.
Carlo Branch replaces former policy director Melvin Tabilas, who has stepped down to pursue other opportunities.
Branch took on his new role Monday after his resignation from the Legislature, which became effective Friday.
In a statement, Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero praised Branch, calling him “experienced, bright, and focused on making a difference.” She said she is “happy to have him on our team, and we look forward to his service in our administration.”
Tabilas was appointed to the policy director position by the governor in January at a gross salary of $85,000, not including benefits. Branch’s salary remains the same, the governor’s office said.
As executive director of the Legislature, Branch had a gross salary of $80,080, not including benefits.
