Chaplain promotes spiritual wellness with Guam Guard members

PRAYER: Chaplain Maj. Dennis Kirkland, at right, Guam National Guard state chaplain, visits soldiers and airmen who are supporting the Guam Police Department with perimeter security at a quarantine site. The need for spiritual wellness is often downplayed as less important than emotional, physical or social wellness. However, spiritual wellness cannot be overlooked. It is the part of overall wellness that can give every individual a sense of hope, meaning and purpose, Guard officials stated. Kirkland seeks to provide guidance and spiritual encouragement to soldiers and airmen who may be facing challenges while performing the Guard’s mission during this COVID-19 crisis. "All-around resilient and always-ready troops are key to our COVID-19 defense,” said Kirkland. Photo courtesy of Guam National Guard
