Guam's first born child of 2019 arrived at 19 minutes past midnight New Year's day.
Desirae Mafnas gave birth to a son named Malakai. The father Kyle Mafnas was at their side.
Malakai is the first baby born on U.S. soil in the New Year. He weighed in at 6.6 pounds and 17.9 inches.
Dr. Tom Shieh delivered the baby at Guam Memorial Hospital. He reports that the mother and child are doing fine.
