GPD has nine new SUVs for patrols

NEW VEHICLES: The Guam Police Department on Thursday announced the purchase of five 2020 Toyota 4 Runners and four 2020 Mitsubishi Outlanders. The purchase of the Mitsubishi Outlanders was through the Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funds Program. These vehicles will serve GPD’s 24-hour patrols. The Outlanders will be used for patrols and for COVID-19 response, according to GPD. The Outlanders were bought for $29,999 each to include outfitting each vehicle with lights and sirens which totaled $119,996. The purchase of three Toyota 4 Runners was made possible through local funds under the Official Vehicle Inspection Services Fee at $37,470 each which totaled $112,410. The purchase of two Toyota 4 Runners was made possible through federal funds under the Recreational Boating Safety Program at a total purchase price of $74,940. Photo courtesy of GPD
