The Department of Defense has awarded a Hawaii construction company a $15 million contract to build an ordnance facility at Andersen Air Force base in Yigo.
Honolulu based Nan, Inc. won the award according to a release issued Tuesday by Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific.
The contract was competitively procured via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website. Nan was one of three companies that bid on the project.
The work includes construction of a low-rise, one-story, reinforced concrete ordnance operations building. The structure will include administrative office space to support the United States Marine Corps ordnance operations. The project also calls for the construction of a one story reinforced concrete inert storehouse.
$15,128,199 has been identified in the Navy’s 2019 military construction budget to cover the cost of the project. The funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year, according to the NAFAC announcement.
The work is slated to be completed by December 2021.
