Good news! The Salvation Army is still serving up its Thanksgiving feast today at the Chamorro Village. But instead of the FestPac huts, the community meal will be served at the Village’s main pavilion, said CJ Urquico, the nonprofit’s public relations spokesman.
The change comes as Tropical Storm Kammuri continues to move away from the Marianas.
Urquico said Chip Guard at the National Weather Service Guam office told him to expect more rain today, so the feast was moved because “we want to make sure everyone is comfortable.”
Volunteers will serve food from around 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Urquico said.
The Salvation Army serves Thanksgiving meals to about 1,000 to 1,200 people on Guam each year.
