If you weren't there, you missed out.
The award-winning cast of "Mamma Mia!" performed to a packed house, treating hundreds of island fans to a show filled with glitz, music and glamour during a three-day showcase held this weekend at the University of Guam Calvo Field House.
With "Super Trooper," "Money, Money, Money" and "Dancing Queen" rolling through the field house, theatergoers enjoyed a night of Broadway hits, which featured the stunning talents of a local cast joined by international award-winning actors and singers who have performed with lead roles in theater, film and television: Deedee Magno Hall, Cliffton Hall, Lanie Sumalinog, Julio Fuentes and AJ Rafael.
All week long, the stars of the show have held meet-and-greets, drumming up excitement for the show, which covers a young woman's journey to self-discovery and is backed by musical hits from ABBA. It was a night to remember as the stars also visited fans prior to the show to take photos and get some face time with their island fans.
The show, which was produced by World Theater Productions in conjunction with Step Up Entertainment & Dance Company, benefits the UOG Endowment Foundation.
To date, WTP has donated more than $16,000 to local nonprofit organizations. The show is sponsored by Dusit Thani Guam Resort and Outrigger Guam Beach Resort.
WTP is a platform for professional artists from around the world to share their talents to enhance theater production on island and hone local talents who seek to get into the field of entertainment.
