A man who was caught on video surveillance allegedly breaking into and stealing from a Maite home was arrested.
Alfred Joshua Castro, 20, was charged with burglary as a second-degree felony, conspiracy to commit burglary as as second-degree felony, theft as a second-degree felony, conspiracy to commit theft as a second-degree felony, and criminal trespass and criminal mischief as misdemeanors.
Security footage showed three men break a window and then one person can be seen passing items to a second person at the window, documents state. The suspects took off with items valued at about $3,580 to include a cordless drill set, a security camera, jewelry, an Xbox One console, a laptop and a chainsaw, documents state.
Police arrested Castro, who was seen back in the neighborhood. He allegedly admitted that he and his friends initially planned to break the glass window but then decided to steal some items, documents state.
