A 49-year-old man has pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct, a misdemeanor, for touching the buttocks of a then-9-year-old child and using force or coercion to accomplish the contact.
Sheichy Keichro Joker faces zero to six months in prison with credit for the two days he's spent detained. He will be sentenced on Jan. 29, 2020.
Joker initially faced the much more serious charge of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, with two counts, as a first-degree felony. One count involved touching the child's buttocks and the other involved touching of the victim's genital area. The incident occurred in May 2018.
About a year after his arrest, in March 2019, the government charged Joker with just the misdemeanor criminal sexual conduct offense.
According to the magistrate's complaint, on May 25, 2018, police officers at the Dededo precinct responded to a criminal sexual conduct complaint and met with the victim. She indicated she was touched on two occasions by Joker. The first was on May 14, 2018, while she was sleeping in a bedroom, she awoke to Joker touching her buttocks. He reportedly ran out of the bedroom.
The second was on May 15, 2018, when the girl awoke to Joker allegedly touching her private part. Both incidents were over clothing, according to the complaint.
A June 2018 indictment switches those dates around.
