New brigadier general assumes command of Guam Air Guard

NEW GENERAL: Guam Maj. Gen. Esther Aguigui, the adjutant general for the Guam National Guard, left, hands the command flag to newly promoted Brig. Gen. Christopher Faurot during a promotion and assumption-of-command ceremony at Andersen Air Force Base on Friday. Faurot receives his one-star and takes command of the Guam Air National Guard. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, he is a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy where he earned a bachelor’s degree in marine transportation. Faurot is a command pilot with more than 2,500 flight hours in the F-15 and F-22 jets and transport aircraft C-17. Prior to his current assignment, Faurot was the commander of the 254th Air Base Group, Guam Air National Guard. Dontana Keraskes/The Guam Daily Post
