A pathologist will perform the autopsy to confirm how a man who was found dead inside a car parked at the Micronesia Mall outdoor parking lot Monday morning died.
Authorities responded to the scene near the mall parking garage where a gray sedan had been parked. Officers received a call that the man inside was unconscious and unresponsive, according to Guam Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Paul Tapao.
"He appeared lifeless," Tapao said.
The man's name has not been released.
GPD's criminal investigation division has taken the lead in looking into the case.
However, Tapao said it's too soon for investigators to say whether there appeared to be any foul play.
There was no word on when an autopsy would be performed, as the local medical examiner's office remains without a permanent or full-time doctor.
