Fifty-year-old Tim Concepcion was just about to head to work Friday night when the unexpected occurred at his residence in Yigo.
Concepcion was hit by gunfire while outside his home along Route 15 - also called the back road to Andersen Air Force Base - near Hello Mart in Yigo the day after Thanksgiving.
Guam police have not released details of the shooting.
However, a family member tells The Guam Daily Post that they got the call about the incident around 10 pm.
Concepcion, who was home alone at the time, was reportedly shot in the leg but was able to call for help.
His family said he was treated at the Guam Regional Medical City where he remains in stable condition.
"We are stunned. This area is all family. It's a real close-knit community ad stuff like this never happens around here," said one family member. "It's shaken everybody around here. It's just been really crazy."
Concepcion's family believes the shooting was random.
Second shooting on Route 15
The shooting was reported more than two weeks after a shooting occurred along Route 15 in Pågat, Mangilao on Nov. 13.
The victim, Katarina Pitto, 27, was on her way home from picking up her cousin from work when the shooter opened fire.
Pitto, who is six months pregnant, was shot six times, in her arms and face.
She has since been treated and released from the hospital. Her baby was not injured.
Police have not yet identified any suspects in either of the shootings.
Anyone with information is asked to call Guam Crime Stoppers at 477-HELP.
