WestCare Pacific Islands, a nonprofit organization that provides a range of health and human services, will hold a veterans health conference on Thursday at the Guam Community College Multi-Purpose Auditorium in Mangilao.
The theme of the conference is "Staying STRONG – a Holistic Approach to Veteran Wellness" and will highlight information related to the four pillars of veteran wellness: physical, emotional, social and spiritual well-being.
The conference is open to veterans of all eras and their family members.
"There are thousands of veterans on Guam, in addition to those that live in the neighboring islands of Micronesia. It is not often that veterans gather to focus on strategies toward maintaining a well-rounded well-being. This event will bring approximately 100 veterans and their family members to present and discuss these strategies to improve self-care and to access resources in the community," a WestCare news release on the event states.
