Women Warriors oral history project launched

ORAL HISTORY: Maj. Gen. Esther Aguigui, the adjutant general of the Guam National Guard, meets with JulieHera DeStefano, director of "Journey to Normal," a movie which was featured as part of the launch of the Guam Women Warriors online oral history project. The project was launched Wednesday at the Senator Antonio M. Palomo Guam Museum & Chamorro Educational Facility in Hagåtña. From left: Aguigui; Kimberlee Kihleng, Humanities Guahan; and DeStefano. The online oral history project was developed by Humanities Guåhan and follows the journeys of women currently serving in the military and those who have returned to civilian life. The Guam Women Warriors website also launched on Wednesday with stories about women entering military service. New stories are added every Wednesday to track the progression of these women’s journeys through training, active duty, deployment, the return home, and beyond.
