The University of Guam women's soccer team, signing Colleen Naden to a partial tuition scholarship on Thursday, took a big step forward.
Naden, one of the fiercest strikers on island, led the George Washington High School girls soccer team to the 2014 championship. That same year, she was named Independent Interscholastic Athletic Association of Guam soccer MVP.
During her high school career, which was split between GW and Southern High School, she was named to the IIAAG All-Island First Team four times.
Naden, dominant at the Island club level, in the Guam Football Association's Women's Bud Light Premier League, led the Lady Crushers to several titles. In the GFA league, from 2015 to 2017, she won the Golden Boot award.
With international experience, Naden has been an integral member of the Guam Women’s National Soccer Team. Four times, for Guam, she played in East Asian Football Federation playoff fixtures, including matches against Mongolia, Hong Kong, and Chinese Taipei.
The Tritons, in 2018-2019, coming off a 12-3-1 season, hope to play in the GFA Premier League.
