Guam Cancer Care, in collaboration with Sky Zone Guam, will host an event to raise the awareness of childhood cancer.

The event, “Jump for Gold, No Kid Fights Alone,” which includes free jump time for the first 50 attendees, takes place from 10 a.m to 2 p.m, Sunday, Sept. 1, at Sky Zone Guam in the Agana Shopping Center.

Jumpstarting the event, Dr. Ana Milena Sanchez Varela, a pediatrician, certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, will deliver opening remarks.

Varela is a specialist in hematology and oncology.

Apart from education and endless fun, participants can learn about health and wellness. Local vendors, such as Steel Athletics, Healthy Fix, Picasso Nenis, Pay-Less Supermarkets Edu Kitchen, and others, will be onsite to assist.

According to information provided in a press release, children will be able to jump in support of childhood cancer awareness, understand the importance of eating healthy and exercising, and come together as a unified community.

“Sky Zone Guam supports … Guam Cancer Care’s mission,” said Jane Quidachay, Guam Sky Zone general manager. “We take high value in education to help promote awareness and prevent diseases that impact the lives of our young children.”

In the U.S., annually, more than 11,000 children are diagnosed with cancer.

“We are extremely humbled by the outpouring of support from community partners such as Sky Zone Guam," said Terry Cuabo, Guam Cancer Care executive director.
