Guam soldiers win softball tournament

Guam Army National Guard soldiers from the 1st-294th Infantry Regiment, who are currently supporting the Multinational Force and Observers peacekeeping mission in the Sinai Peninsula, recently participated in a friendly softball tournament.

Guam soldiers are an integral component of the 12 countries that supervise the implementation of the security provisions of the 1979 Egyptian-Israeli Treaty of Peace, stated a news release.

Guam Guard Charlie Company Sabre Platoon placed first, while its Spartan Platoon finished second. An Australian contingent claimed bronze.

The tournament was held at Forward Operating Base-North, in Northern Sinai, Egypt.

The event, based in fun and camaraderie, showcased teams from various allied countries.
