The Guam National Golf Federation held a two-day qualifier Dec. 29-30, 2018, to rank the top four male and female players for the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa.
In the men’s division, Devin Hua took over first place, scoring 73 and 75 for a combined score of 148. Eduardo Terlaje grabbed second place with a 79 and 71 for combined score of 150. Brentt Salas secured third with a combined score of 155 for an 83 on the first day and 72 on the second day. John Anthony Muna rounded out the top four with a 79 and 76 at 155.
For the women’s division, Rose Tarpley topped the women division with a score of 87 and 85 for a total of 172. Coming in at second place was Emiri Sunga with a score of 94 and 88 for a total score of 182, Tessie Blair secured third place with a 93 and 91 for a total score of 184, and Tai Maulupe grabbed a fourth place with a combined score of 197. However, Tessie Blair is unable to travel to Samoa so the next alternate is Kalina Sunga with a combined score of 198.
The alternates for the men’s division are Robert Manalo, Ricardo Terlaje, Redge Camacho and Ivan Sablan. The women’s alternate is Eva Cabrera.
The GNGF Board, at its recent board meeting, voted Louie Sunga as the team captain and Daryl Poe as the co-captain to lead Team Guam at the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa.
