Zach Banner's camp confirms torn ACL

SEASON-ENDING INJURY: In this March file photo, Zach Banner explains a drill to Guam youth football players. Banner, the Pittsburgh Steelers' right defensive tackle, sustained a right knee ACL tear against the New York Giants in Week 1. On Friday, Banner will undergo season-ending surgery. Zach Banner’s camp confirmed to The Guam Daily Post on Wednesday that the injury he suffered in the Steelers’ win over the Giants is a torn ACL. After going down with the fourth-quarter injury, Banner was carted off the field. Banner, through his B3 Foundation, has twice visited Guam and has conducted a series of football camps as part of an outreach program to help youth in economically challenged communities. After Banner's surgery, The Guam Daily Post will publish an in-depth story of the injury and a special message to his fans on the island. Matt Weiss/The Guam Daily Post
